As if that wasn’t enough, he forged some peculiar alliances, including one with a variant of himself, leading to the introduction of He Who Remains, brilliantly played by Jonathan Majors. He Who Remains is the creator of the TVA, tasked with preventing a cataclysmic multiversal war among variants of himself. Yes, you read that right!
In a spectacular crossover, one of those variants, Kang the Conqueror, made his stunning debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. And the first tease of Loki season 2 was unveiled during the film’s end-credits, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what’s to come.

First Look at Loki Season 2
A recent trailer for Disney+ provided viewers with their first glimpse of Loki season 2, showing Tom Hiddleston reprising his iconic role. Prior to this, the most significant hint about Loki season 2 came during the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The MCU’s first Phase 5 film featured the return of Loki and Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius, who found themselves in the early 20th Century alongside Jonathan Majors’ Victor Timely. This confirmed that Loki season 2, now slated for release on October 5, 2023, will dive deeper into time-travel shenanigans as the TVA duo investigates Kang the Conqueror and his various incarnations throughout history.
What to Expect from Loki Season 2
The two thrilling end-credits scenes of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania set the stage for the second season of Loki. Firstly, in the first scene, we are introduced to a Council of Kangs who unite to prepare for an impending multiversal war. Secondly, the second scene places Loki and Mobius in the early 1900s, where they encounter a new variant of Kang, who introduces himself as Victor Timely. Notably, in the comics, Victor Timely is a version of Kang who ventures into the past to create advanced technology in his quest to defeat the Avengers.
As Loki and Mobius prepare to confront Kang variants throughout time, it seems we’re in for a time-bending, multiverse-hopping adventure, possibly setting the stage for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Returning Cast and New Additions
Many familiar faces from Loki season 1 are set to return alongside Tom Hiddleston. Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, and Tara Strong will reprise their roles.
