Editorial & Content Policy

This policy explains how Mad Over Stories creates, labels, and corrects its content. It applies to everything we publish.

Two kinds of content, clearly labeled

Factual content — our guides, ranked lists, documentary features, and science explainers are based on verifiable information from named sources: court records, published journalism, scientific literature, and official statements. Where estimates are involved (for example, celebrity net worth figures), we name the source of the estimate.

Narrative stories — some of our stories are dramatized narratives written for entertainment. Every such story carries an editor’s note at the top stating that names, details, and dialogue may be fictionalized or composited. These stories should never be treated as verified reporting, and we do not present them as news.

How we work

  • Every article is reviewed by a human editor before publication.
  • We use AI tools to assist with research and drafting; a human editor is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of everything we publish.
  • Factual claims in guides and explainers are checked against at least one independent source.
  • We do not accept payment for coverage. Advertising on this site is always visually distinct from content.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix the article and note the correction. To report an error, use our contact page — corrections are reviewed within a few days.

Updates to older articles

Guides and lists are refreshed when the underlying facts change. The “last updated” date on an article reflects its most recent substantive review.
